Extended Reach Drilling
Reelwell Drilling Method (RDM) provides access to reserves that otherwise cannot be developed when the alternatives of new platforms and subsea tiebacks are too expensive or risky.
Extending drainage area from fixed platforms makes it possible to improve the recovery and lengthen the life of existing fields.

| Why is RDM especially suited for ERD? RDM includes a unique way of cleaning the hole of cuttings, features Hydraulic Weight on Bit and precise pressure control. | Together with international partners Reelwell has started a Joint Industry Project (JIP) on Extended Reach Drilling (ERD), ultimately aiming for a drilling reach beyond 20 km. | RDM uses Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) as means of achieving ultimate ERD. MPD is a solution for drilling reservoirs with pressure challenges. | ||
